Charlton Heston stars as Kaira Braden, the diehard circus manager who lives and inhales to help keep the show moving. Using the Large Top going to hit very cheap, Braden employs The Truly Amazing Sebastian (Cornel Wilde), a daring trapeze legend, to revitalize the circus. His arrival sparks the competition and admiration of Carol (Betty Hutton), Braden's girlfriend and trapeze star.
